Naturalism for Now

Having read Lucky Jim and Sebald's Natural History of Destruction. The former was delight and the latter more literary criticism than history (bad for my dad as it was my gift to him.) The book was still a solemn work and I especially appreciated his words on Peter Weiss, who is just now being translated into English.

My dogma days have begun with Sister Carrie.

Jon hopefully you already were aware of this -
Ibrahim Ferrer:
Was saddened today to hear on Fresh Air with Terri Gross that Cuban singer Ibrahim Ferrer passed away Saturday at the ripe age of 78. Terri re-ran a previously recorded interview with Ry Cooder today with his description of how he came to find the Bolero style singer with being in Havana putting together the Buena Vista Social Club documentary and album. Here is a link of the audio conversation between Gross and Cooder . Go to my blog and there is an audio link....Cheers
