Falling Short

I didn't read much today, amazingly busy at work and my lidded eyes were only apt for 20 pages of the Powers upon return.

I know I should be reading Hermann Broch.

Instead, I think about Hitler.

Perhaps people focus upon Hitler vs. Stalin the way that many are predisposed towards either Greene or Waugh.

Ironic that you speak of Hilter.

I wonder often why so many followed so blindly.

Any thoughts?

Lloyd,
How do you think the current US Government leadership got the citizens of this country to follow along so blindly after the events on September 11,2001?

Anon,

Sorry to respond so late but have been busy elsewhere.

To answer your question, we in the USA had been attacked directly on 911.

Germany had not been attacked as such in 1939, only convinced by Hitler that attack was eminent.

Fear propigated by those in positions of leadership only is then only correlation I see.

Which if either was correct I can't answer.

My question remains if history is the teacher, why have we not learned from it?
